Councilman Michael DiBenedetto

Mike DiBenedetto is a lifelong resident of Freehold Borough. He graduated from St. Rose of Lima Grammar School, St. John Vianney High School and Brookdale Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration.

DiBenedetto is also a businessman in downtown, where he continues the success of his family barbershop, and where he has served customers for more than 25 years. Living and working in Freehold gives DiBenedetto a finely honed insight and perspective on the needs and desires of both residents and businesses, and thus is an asset to the council.

DiBenedetto is also a tireless volunteer who is committed to his hometown. He is a member of the Freehold Fire Department serving as Captain and Past President of the Monmouth Hose Company. He is a former Little League coach, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, the Freehold Elks Lodge and Past Chairman of the Memorial Day Parade Committee. Prior to being elected as councilman, DiBenedetto served on the Planning Board.

On council, DiBenedetto served as Council President 4 times, and currently serves on the Public Safety Committee as well as council liaison to the Public Works Department, the Recreation Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission.

In 2017 Mike was inducted to the New Jersey League of Municipalities Elected Officials Hall of Fame. Mike was first sworn into office in January of 1997 - and the conclusion of 2022 marked his 26th year of representing the good people of Freehold Borough.

DiBenedetto believes that every problem has a solution and works aggressively to bring about positive results and find innovative answers to any challenges that may face the community.
