Council Candidate Jeff Friedman

 

 

In high school Jeff studied art under New York artist Dorothy Zilka and was a winner of the Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival in 1990.  Jeff earned degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from Manhattanville College, Purchase, New York, studied Economic Theory and European History as an associate student at Trinity College of Oxford University, Oxford England, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the Widener School of Law, Wilmington, Delaware. Jeff worked in Washington, DC, New Brunswick and Trenton, NJ for various politicians and political committees in several capacities between 1999 and 2006 and thereafter returned to Monmouth County. 
  
Jeff has served the community in a number of capacities over the years including; member and then chair of the Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission, Member on the Freehold Borough Master Plan Subcommittee, Board Member on the Freehold Borough Unified Planning Board, Member of the Park Avenue School Safety Committee, Board Member for the Freehold Landlord Association, Trustee for the Monmouth County Historical Association, President of the Freehold Rotary Club, and served as a member of the Board for the Freehold Center Management Corporation/ DowntownFreehold.com.


Jeff  is currently the Executive Director and Business Advocate for the Freehold Center Management Corporation/ DowntownFreehold.com, which manages the Freehold Center Special Improvement District; Owner of the Freehold Art Gallery, an intimate downtown art gallery and event venue; The managing partner of a small property management company which owns and manages the A.R. Throckmorton House and the John Dorrance House, two historically accurate 1850’s buildings on Broad Street in downtown Freehold, and KFM Partnership a small real estate development company developing an apartment building. Over the years Jeff has also done private consulting for small businesses, organizations, and property owners on regulatory affairs and management issues. 

 

Jeff is currently President of the Freehold Borough Arts Council, Chair for the FBAC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Treasurer & Board Member of Neighborhood Connection to Health, Co-Chair of the Freehold Municipal Alliance, Chair of the Freehold Food Safety Net Committee, member of Brookdale Collage’s President’s Advisory Committee, member of the Freehold Borough Redevelopment Advisory Committee.
